Renon high plain - cable car, panoramic train and marvellous landscape

The brand new Renon Gondola-Cablecar will start service soon !

The new state of the art multi-gondola cable car will replace the old traditional style cablecar, in order to improve passenger capacity.
Within ten minutes tourists will be liftet form Bolzano centre towards the hights of the renon high plain, since remote times the summer resort for rich merchant families. The many manors and large farmhouses are witnesses of a glorious past of the area, give to the landscape and idyllic, fairy tail touch.
The high plain is mostly flat and offers so an ideal destination for elderly people, who prefer long walks to hiking tours.
The stone pyramids are a unique natural phenomenon, found in only in the surroundings of Bolzano. Erosion and heavy rainfall washed away whole slopes, were a stone or rock protected the underlying earth, there the forces of nature created in centuries this in impressive pillars of earth, with mostly the protecting rock sitting still on top.
Another attraction is the Renon tram, once upon a time part of the public transportation system that connected Bolzano to Collalbo. Whilst the funicular was replaced with the old cable car, the old trusty tram still serves his duty, ferrying passengers to the mountain station of the cable car.
The trip with cable car and tram is absolutely worth the money, and the ideal thing to do should you have only few hours to spare. The trip opens a rewarding view on Bolzano and surroundings, the Mendola, the idyllic landscape of the Renon high plain, and the panorama towards the legend cloud mountains of the Dolomites Sciliar, Catinaccio and Latemar.

We advise that the new gondola cable car is still under construction, we will let you know as soon as we get more information about the opening.
