The Colle – House mountain of Bolzano

You can easily reach the top with the cable car that runs every half an hour.
The first version dates back to 1908 and was formerly a well known tourist attraction being the first mountain cable car in the whole world. You can find the original wooden cabin on display next the the small bar near the mountain station (1200 metres above sea level)
A few steps a away you can find an observation tower, do not forget to climb it for some pictures of the dolomite panorama.
Leaving the small village you find your self very soon in the deep forest and almost untouched nature. The Colle is the ideal destination for people who want to hop up to have a good look at the panorama, or on the other hand, plenty of time and the right equipment, want to venture along the pan european hiking trail by foot or mountain bike.
The rocky and tricky trails descending the slopes of the Colle are well known to mountain bike insiders, but good skills, full suspension and full protection gear are absolutely mandatory !
